Turning hunger into hope, one meal at a time! For the 5th consecutive year, our PWA team dedicated their time at Feed My Starving Children in Schaumburg, IL to pack nutritious meals for children in need throughout the world. Together, volunteers filled 74 boxes, creating 15,984 meals that will feed 44 children for an entire year! Truly amazing!

This holiday season, our PWA team was proud to give back alongside The Salvation Army, marking our fourth year supporting their Angel Tree program and Toy Shop. Together, we adopted 50 children and teens, providing toys, clothing, games, and gift cards for families in our local community.

Our team also spent a day volunteering to help set up the Toy Shop, creating a welcoming space where parents can “shop” for their children and experience the joy of the season. Thank you to our staff for their time and donations to this wonderful cause!

PWA staff and clients came together to volunteer at the Crystal Lake Food Pantry in November. Together, we helped bin over 3,750 pounds of food, and  date-checked over 2,500 cans of soup and corn to support families in need this holiday season!

For the 4th year in a row, our PWA Pink Power team came together for the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk at Cantigny Park. This cause means so much to our PWA family, and we’re proud to walk for hope, strength, and support for all those impacted by breast cancer!

PWA staff and clients came together to volunteer at the West Suburban Community Pantry (WSCP) to support the families in need throughout DuPage and Will Counties. Volunteers sorted hundreds of food cans, restocked shelves, and organized food donations. WSCP strives to provide nutritious food options, and in each visit, they give out 125lbs of food per family! We are grateful for the opportunity to work with such a wonderful organization and support their vision of a community without hunger!

PWA hosted Bring Your Kids to Work Day, where our little guests engaged in a meaningful activity that combined creativity with compassion. They worked together to make over 300 snack packs for families at the Ronald McDonald House Charities! These amazing kids also created thoughtful handmade cards filled with encouraging messages for children undergoing treatment in nearby hospitals. We’re so proud of these young helpers for embracing the spirit of kindness and community.

PWA partnered again this year with The Salvation Army for their Angel Tree program and Toy Shop Setup event. This program is a wonderful way to bring joy to the lives of underprivileged children and families. Our teams worked hard, selecting special gifts and essentials to make this holiday season extra special for those in need. Additionally, volunteers helped The Salvation Army setup their Toy Shop for families to come in and pickup their Angel Tree gifts. Thank you to our staff who contributed to this heartwarming cause!

This holiday season, our PWA staff and clients united in a heartwarming effort to give back to the community by volunteering at the Crystal Lake Food Pantry (CLFP). It was a truly rewarding experience as our team worked hard to organize and sort food for distribution. The incredible work of the CLFP is nothing short of inspiring, as they distribute over 14,900 pounds of food each week, serving more than 800 families each month. We are grateful for the opportunity to support such an incredible organization that is committed to providing healthy food to individuals and families in need.

PWA and HighPoint proudly sponsored six pre-lit trees for Brookfield Zoo’s annual Tree Trim event in support of the zoo’s upcoming Holiday Magic celebration. Our staff, along with their families, gathered together to enjoy hot chocolate and delicious treats while decorating the trees with handmade ornaments. Families also had the opportunity to explore the zoo, visit the animals, and stroll through the open exhibits, making it a day full of wonderful memories and holiday cheer.

PWA was proud to support and participate in the annual American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. Our team, PWA Pink Power, walked alongside 3,000 participants at Cantigny Park in Wheaton, IL in support of a common goal – to beat breast cancer! It was a beautiful morning filled with positivity, support, connection, and most importantly, HOPE. 

Our PWA staff and clients came together to volunteer at the Northern Illinois Food Bank (NIFB) in Geneva, IL. As a member of Feeding America, the NIFB serves our neighbors in 13 counties by providing an astonishing 250,000 meals per day! Our afternoon and evening teams packed a total of 8,476 pounds of food that will provide 7,063 meals to families in need! It was an enriching experience that reminded us of the important impact we can make when we come together to support our community.

PWA hosted Bring Your Kids to Work Day, where our little ones took part in a special activity to assemble care packages and create heartfelt cards for the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Together, they assembled 240 Snack Pack kits, which will provide comfort and support for families facing challenging times. Families often endure long days filled with medical appointments and hospital visits, and we are delighted that our care packages will offer them a moment of relief. We are immensely proud of our young contributors for making a difference in the lives of others!

PWA had the incredible opportunity to work with Feed My Starving Children in Schaumburg, IL to pack nutritious meals for children in need around the world. Our group packaged 105 boxes full of 22,680 meals that will feed 62 children for an entire year! Feed My Starving Children reached a record-breaking milestone in 2023, as they shipped their 4 billionth meal! PWA is proud to be part of this remarkable effort for a third year in a row to help end world hunger.

Our PWA staff and clients came together to volunteer at the West Suburban Community Pantry (WSCP) in Woodridge, IL. Both our morning and afternoon shifts worked hard to help organize and sort food, lift boxes, clean, etc., and we couldn’t be more proud of our PWA team! Each week, the WSCP feeds close to 500 households throughout DuPage and Will Counties. In 2023 alone, they helped over 110,000 individuals and served over 3 million pounds of food!  We are grateful for the opportunity to support such a wonderful organization and their mission to provide nourishing food to families in need.

The holiday season is about spreading joy and giving back, and PWA was happy to partner with The Salvation Army to do just that! We participated in their Angel Tree Program and adopted 50 children and teens in our local community to donate new clothes, toys, and gift cards. Additionally, our team helped The Salvation Army setup their Toy Shop for families to come in and pick up their Angel Tree gifts. A big thank you to our volunteers who helped make this Christmas a little brighter for families in need!

Our team and their families handmade ornaments and decorated the trees located south of the Pachyderm House. This annual tradition helps to beautify the landscape ahead of the Holiday Magic celebration at the zoo.

PWA was proud to sponsor and participate in American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk on a beautiful fall Sunday morning! Our PWA team walked alongside with family and friends at Cantigny Park in Wheaton, IL to support teams, survivors, and those currently fighting the disease. It was an honor to be amongst such a positive crowd of thousands, all working towards a common goal – beating cancer!

PWA was pleased to volunteer at Sharing Connections in Downers Grove, IL for our PWA giveback event. Sharing Connections is a local foundation that provides furniture, household items, and clothing to families who were previously homeless, unemployed, victims of domestic violence, or are immigrants struggling to make ends meet. Our team helped to organize, sort, and clean furniture and household items that will be provided to families in need. This was a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those who are struggling, and to help families build a better future for themselves and their loved ones.

Our PWA team came together to volunteer at Feed My Starving Children. Volunteers worked to pack nutritious meals for children in need. Our group packaged 127 boxes full of 27,432 meals that will feed 75 children for an entire year! PWA is thankful to work with this remarkable organization to help support world hunger.

Giving without the thought of getting, is the true spirit of the season! PWA was proud to team up with The Salvation Army this year as part of their Angel Tree Program. We adopted 50 children and teens throughout the local community, with hopes of making their holiday a little brighter. Our team generously donated new clothing, toy, and gift cards to help these families in need. A big thank you to all those who donated... what a wonderful way to give back to others this holiday season! 

Our PWA staff and clients from the Crystal Lake office came together to volunteer at the Crystal Lake Food Pantry. Volunteers sorted hundreds of food cans and organized the Crystal Lake Food Pantry’s long term storage bins. In addition to volunteering, PWA donated rice, cereal, and peanut butter, which were items needed by the pantry. Each month, the Crystal Lake Food Pantry helps feed close to 700 households throughout the local community. PWA is grateful for the opportunity to work with such a wonderful organization to help families in need!

Our PWA team and their families came together to create hand-made ornaments and decorated four trees at Brookfield Zoo. PWA sponsored the trees, located between the Pachyderm House and Tropic World. This annual tradition helps to embellish the landscape of the zoo, and gear up for the 41st anniversary of Holiday Magic. 

PWA proudly supported the American Cancer Society at the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk at Soldier Field in Chicago. We support those who continue to fight, we admire the survivors, and we remember those who were taken…. And we will never give up hope! 

Our PWA team rolled up their sleeves and put their skills to work as they helped build a home in Hanover Park, IL for DuPage Habitat for Humanity.  We worked on plumbing, flooring, railings, and painted trims and siding. It was a great day filled with teamwork and togetherness, all to help families in need throughout the community.  

Our team had the privilege of volunteering at Feed My Starving Children in Schaumburg, IL. Our group packaged 75 boxes full of 16,200 meals that will feed 44 children for an entire year! We had a blast and are grateful to be able to support hunger relief.

Our PWA team volunteered with Together We Rise (TWR) to decorate Sweet Case duffle bags that will be given to children as they enter foster care or are transitioning into a new home. The bags are decorated with fun images and encouraging statements and are filled with new comfort and hygiene products. PWA is proud to support TWR’s mission to remove trash bags from the foster care system and to help foster children have a gracious way to transition into a new home.
